Surrey Museum

Case Study

The compact storage system allowed the Surrey Museum to keep more of their collection by using less space to store it. This mobile storage system uses pull out trays for small artifacts, bin fronts on the fixed shelves to retain artifacts, hanging bars for uniforms and garments, pull down roll-lock tambour doors to protect fabrics, and a custom cantilever textile storage rack. The storage system is powder coated as this is the preference for museum applications as there is no off gassing. The off-gassing from solvent based paint finishes can damage the collection over time. A light grey colour was chosen to keep the area bright for the users.
