which is why we wanted to be the first to tell you about the new regulations from WorkSafeBC about storage racks.
Early in 20018, new and revised sections will appear in the “Occupational Health and Safety Regulations” regarding storage racks. It is critical that you understand what is needed in order to comply with the new regulations.
While the entire regulations changes can be viewed online, here are two things you need to know that will impact your business:
- Employers must maintain regular inspections by qualified storage experts while also identifying and providing maintenance to identify wear, corrosion, damage, missing or incompatible parts, or signs of fatigue; all things that prevent unsafe working conditions.
- Employers must ensure labels and instructions for loading, rated capacity, unloading, inspecting and more are easily visible.
